As an educational and cultural ambassador for Greenville and South Carolina, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra (GSO) is a resource that builds community by providing excellence in live musical performance, educating minds, and engaging our community through the unifying power of music.
As the GSO continues to evolve with a rapidly growing Greenville, generous donor support is greatly appreciated to continue our legacy. The GSO is investing in high quality musicians and staff, enriching programmatic offerings, and enhancing community impact through educational engagement.
As ticket revenue covers less than 30 percent of our annual budget, the Symphony relies heavily upon donations and its endowment revenue. With costs increasing each year, we need to build a more substantial endowment so we can rely on that income year after year.
Classical music, more than any other art form, can express an unlimited range of emotions. We listen to classical music to process our feelings, reduce stress, and improve our moods. Classical music helps us aspire to better ourselves intellectually and emotionally.
Founded in 1948, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra has been the classical music foundation of our community. The Symphony enriches the lives of those who attend the Masterworks, Chamber, Pops and Spotlight performances, as well as the over 28,000 children who experience a variety of education programs.
Through sound fiscal management, annual support from our many generous donors, and an annual contribution from the endowment, the Symphony has achieved financial stability. To maintain financial security of the Symphony and to ensure that the Symphony will continue to enrich lives in our community through symphonic music, we must build the endowment.
Please take this opportunity to learn more about the future of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and how your generous donation to the endowment will sustain and grow music programs that will share the power of music with future generations.
